Zigzag Lace Stitch Pattern

There’s no shortage of lace stitch patterns to knit. You can knit lace chevrons, leaves, and so much more. One category of lace stitches I really love are zigzag lace stitch patterns. I love that with them you can make something that is both delicate and geometric at the same time. Not to mention that they are super fun to knit!

This particular zigzag pattern is worked over a multiple of 6 plus 4 stitches. For example, if you plan to make a worsted weight scarf with this stitch pattern, you might start with 40 stitches (6 x 6 = 36; 36 + 4 = 40 stitches). Remember, this is just for the stitch pattern itself. You’ll likely want some kind of border on each side to keep the fabric from rolling, so plan to add another 2–3 stitches to each side for a garter stitch border or border of your choosing.

No matter what project you choose to incorporate this stitch pattern, it’s guaranteed to be lovely. Don’t forget to let us know what you make with it!
