My gauge seems to be right but my shawl seems smaller. Have it completed but not bound off. Does it need to be blocked to measure 34″? Very pretty. Did not realize until I saw completed project that I was working from top down. Thought I was working from bottom up 😊🤗

      Hello Diane,
Here’s what the experts had to say about your question:

Yes, the gauge of the shawl is when blocked.

Please let us know if you have any further questions
      Sincerely,

Did anyone have problem with gauge? If I count total number of rows and do the math I am right on gauge but mine seems much smaller. I have not removed from needles yet.

Just completed week 1. Loving it. Once I figured it out it is a pretty simple pattern. I am using scrap yarns so a worsted 4 for color A so far and a worsted 3 for color b. It seems to be working. I was worried I was missing stitched but it is working. Hoping I have enough yarn since I decided to use whatever I had around.

just got the patterns so will be starting shortly. It is so hard for me to access the patterns before/during the actual making of the project. Is there a video of the steps and finished project?

Thank you for this 3week project. I am on the second round of Chart A on week #1, and the s1 on the second half is not aligning.
You had promised a picture of the finished project at the end of the project, but this is already the third week, and no picture.
If we could see the end product, I would know if the pattern is going right on my scarf. What about he name of the project?
    Thank you.

In the last paragraph of instructions it says to block the shawl to the size given at the beginning of the instructions. I’m not finding the finished size? Will you provide it please?

Thank you for the fun mystery knit. The shawl is absolutely beautiful. What a fun idea during covid. This was a very fun project and am delighted to have participated. Unfortunately I do not have facebook and am unable to share a photo. PS: This item will be gifted to a family member and I plan on making another one. So appreciate the fun project!

      Hello Suzzanne,

      Thank you for contacting us.

It’s a central double decrease. It takes three stitches and turns it into a single stitch. You’ll slip two stitches as if you’re going to knit 2 together, knit 1 stitch, pass the two slipped stitches over the knit stitch. We have a premium video that demonstrates it here: https://www.theknittingcircle.com/video/working-double-decreases-with-knit-stitches-018298/

If you have any additional questions, please email or contact Customer Service at 1-833-622-6523.

Is there anywhere I can see what the finished project looks like? I plan to knit it but would like to see it first.

Is there a mistake in the instructions? I have had to redo my piece over and over and over again and still don’t come out with the correct number of stitches on the first row. I start out with the correct number, 333 but after the first row instead of 337, I end up with 335. Can anyone help me?

      Hello Kim,

      Thank you for contacting us.

The pattern is correct. The increases are happening in the same spots as the remainder of the shawl – 1 increase near each edge, and the two increases (one on each side) of the center stitch. The stitch count being off may be due to a couple missed yarn overs while working the lace pattern.

If you have any additional questions, please email or contact Customer Service at 1-833-622-6523.

      Sincerely,

Just wanted to say thanks for the Mystery Knit Along. I’ve wanted to try a knit along for many years and finally decided to take the plunge with this one. I really enjoyed it and it was so much fun watching the pattern “unfold” each week. Hope you offer another knit along soon…I will definitely sign up!! Thanks again.

I am still on week 1 instructions. I tend to be visual so am wondering at this point if there are any pictures of this project in progress. I am not sure if I am doing this right and need to be reassured that I am on the right track before I go further. Please help.

Thanks for the KAL! It has been very fun. I think I knit too tight and will have to start over again:( It’s ok though, I don’t mind. I am having fun and that is all that counts. Hope you all have a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year! Hope you all have had as much fun as me!

At then end of week 2, the instructions leave off where we’re using CB. But week 3, the first line says to cut CA and switch to CB. I’m thinking the last two rows of week 2 should be done in CA, could that be right?

I have saved the instructions for the three weeks, but I’m not certain whether I have the knowledge yet to do the project. I am learning so much just finding time each day to read and follow the many talented knitters. Thank you so much for sharing.
