Bamboo Ribbing

The Bamboo Ribbing Stitch makes a lovely textured pattern reminiscent of a field of bamboo trees with their staggered horizontal rings. To make sure the stitch begins and ends with the same “pole” cast on an odd multiple of 6 plus 2.

Row 1 (WS): K2, *p4, k2. Rep from * across.

Row 2 (RS): P2, *k4, p2. Rep from * across.

Row 3: K8, *p4, k8.

Row 4: P8, *k4, p8.

Row 5: Rep Row 1.

Row 6: Rep Row 2.

Row 7: Rep Row 1.
