Bobble Cast-off
Mary Beth TempleThe Bobble Cast-off gives you a fun bound off edge that you can use to add a pop of texture, or to match a bobble cast-on as I did here. For the purposes of this swatch I have 17 stitches, used a 5-stitch bobble, have 2 stitches at the beginning and end of the row and 5 stitches in between the bobbles. If you want a garter stitch ridge to match the cast-on, make sure the last WS row you work before the cast-off is knit.
MB - make bobble - Row 1: (Kfb, kfb, k1) all in same st. (OR K, yo, k, yo, k all in same st - see video!)
Row 2: P5.
Row 3: K5.
Row 4: P5.
Row 5: Put a little pressure on your working yarn on the first sti on the left-hand needle. pass each of the next 4 sts one at a time over that first stitch, pass that stitch to right-hand needle.
Bobble Cast-Off: Bind off one stitch knitwise, MB, knit the bobble st and bind it off, *bind off next 5 sts, MB, knit and bind off the bobble st. Rep from *, bind off to end.
Check out the Bobble Cast-on video so you can match the beginning and end of your project!
