Whether you are brand new to cable knitting or just need a refresher, the Braided Cable is a great pattern to practice with – you will quickly become adept and both right- and left-crossed cables, and will gain an understanding of how cables come together.

Pattern:

Abbreviations: C6B – slip 3 sts onto cable needle and hold in back of work, k 3 from left-hand needle, k3 from cable needle

C6F – slip 3 sts onto cable needle and hold in front of work, k 3 from left-hand needle, k3 from cable needle

For swatch cast on 15 sts.
Row 1 and remaining WS Rows: P2, k1, p9, k1, p2.
Row 2 (RS): K2, p1, k9, p1, k2.
Row 4: K2, p1, C6B, k3, p1, k2.
Row 6: Rep Row 2.
Row 8: K2, p1, k3, C6F, p1 k2.
