Hi, I'm Mary Beth Temple and I am an avid sock knitter and far be it from me to tell you to ignore a designer's pattern. But when you're making socks, I want you to care. Not only about how much fun they are to knit and how pretty they are, but how comfortable they are to wear nine times out of 10. If you find a toe that you prefer to wear because it's more comfortable for you, you can switch it out on the pattern that you're, you're working on. When you get to the end of your foot, you can add the instructions for the toe that you want.

But I want you to notice if you look at these samples right here, they're different lengths. Now, obviously, this one's a different length because I use thicker yarn. But here is a classic wedge toe. Here is a star toe and I have that pearl round right there just so you can see where the toe box begins. And then I have a round toe.

Once again, the pearl round is there just so you can see where the toe box begins if I want to swap one of these toes in for this toe. I totally can. I just need to do the math and make sure that I adjust the foot so that my sock isn't too long.
