Combining cables and lace can give you a really interesting knitted fabric that pairs the texture of cables with the airiness of lace.
C4F – Cable 4 Front – slip 2 sts to cable needle, hold in front of work, k2 from left-hand needle, k2 from cable needle.
For the swatch cast on 24 sts.

Row 1 and remaining WS Rows (WS): K2, p 20, k2.
Row 2 (RS): P2, [C4F, (yo, ssk) twice] twice, C4F, p2.
Row 4: P2, [k4, (ssk, yo) twice] twice, k4, p2.
Row 6: P2, [k4, (yo, ssk) twice] twice, k4, p2.
Row 8: Rep Row 4.
