Hi there. I am Mary Beth Temple, and I'm joining you today on behalf of my very good friends at Yarn Inspirations to talk to you about the Simply me line. Now we have four terrific yarns I want to look at. There are all kinds of patterns, so I just want to give you a brief overview of all the good things that are coming with Simply me. The first yarn that I want to show you is Luster.
Now, this has a little bit of shine to it. And it has a little bit of halo to it. Now Luster is a Raft Yarn Council 4, which makes it a worsted weight, and it comes in a variety of colors. We have a lot of jewel tones and I especially like the multicolors. There's a lot of darker yarns which I really appreciate, and this is the teal jade color.
But let's take a look. Now, we have the content. It is 65% nylon, 35% acrylic. So what you have is a chenille yarn. Which is nice because it won't split, and it's very shiny on the inside but it has this little kind of a fuzzy halo on the outside.
This is a sizable skein at 6 ounces or 170 grams, has 360 yards, so you're going to get some good mileage out of here with the Luster. So this is Simply me Luster. So this beautiful blue cocoon right here I'm not going to unfold the whole thing; it's going to knock my whole table over, but this is a beautiful pattern in the Luster. This one is crocheted, and while we're talking about the Simply me patterns, one of the points I want to make is that there are style inclusive and size inclusive. So whether you're looking for something to wear to the office or out at night, if you need winter wear, if you need summer wear, if you need layers.
Pieces, we have such a huge range of patterns for you to choose from, and also they go from extra small all the way up to 5X. So wherever you fit in that sizing range you'll find a pattern that works for you, and that's one of the things I love about the Simply Me line. So this is our Luster, our little cocoon right here. The next yarn I want to talk about is the Simply me Merino. Now this is a DK weight, a Raft Yarn Coil 3.
You can see when I'm holding it right here on the camera. I'm like petting it. It is so soft, and it was used to knit the The sweater that I'm wearing is one of the Simply Me patterns. It has a zip front. This is very wearable to me; this is like an outdoor thing.
I would go hiking in this. I would go for a ride in the car in this. I love the stand-up collar. I love the inserted zipper, and it has, I always push my sleeves up because that's me, but it has this nice long sleeve. That I also really admire, but I'm sitting here in the studio right now and it is so soft.
I really, really love this yarn, and it's a DK weight so you can really get some good stitch definition. You can really kind of go to town with stitch work whether you're knitting or you're crocheting. So let's take a look now; it says it's the 3 Light. And it is 50% acrylic, 50% merino wool, and you know the merino is the softer wool. So let's see, we have 100 g or 215 yards, so 3.5 ounces, 215 yards.
This also comes—this is not even all the colors, this is all the colors that I could fit on the table, but it comes in a nice modern color range and, again, we have patterns that go with the yarn, which I really appreciate. Being able to have a selection of patterns that suit my individual style. Moving on, we have Simply Me. It's just Simply Me. This is Karen Simply Me from Your Inspirations.
Again, bright pops of color, which I like a lot. And this is a 5, so this is a bulky weight. And it is 62% acrylic, 20 nylon, 18 wool. And one of the things I like about wool-blend yarns is you can have it at an accessible price point. Um, 100% merino, as you may know, can be a little pricey.
Alpaca, some of those other exotic wools can be a little spendy at the store. So having a wool blend gives you a nice price point, but you still get the feel of the wool. You get the—the depth, sort of the color depth, is really nice and if you look at both Simply Me and the Simply Me Merino, we have a nice twist. I think the stitch definition in this whether you knit or you crochet is going to be really nice. I certainly can see it in the gold sweater that I'm wearing, but the Simply Me was used to crochet this really pretty shawl.
Now the pattern, you can see the shawl is right on the ball band. I love a shawl like this; it can take you from the chilly office to dinner out. It is super quick to make because it's the bulkier weight yarn and an open stitch pattern. So I have it styled here with a tank top and a belt and a gathered skirt, and I have it worn asymmetrically. And it has this cute little tassel on the point in the back, as well as the other two points, so you could wear that as a traditional triangle shawl, but you can also style it a bunch of different ways, like I did here.
I could also see, well, you'd have to be a taller person because it's a nice tall shawl, but you could wrap that around your hips over a skirt and get a really interesting look at it. And again, I love the tassels. The last yarn I want to talk to you about is Simply Me Mosaic. Here's the Mosaic, and it has sort of a heathered look to it; it also comes in a bunch of different colorways and it is 62% acrylic, 20% nylon, and once again, 18% wool. I like the wool for the feel.
I like the wool because it gives a nice quality. This is a fun yarn, and the color changes are actually really interesting. So I'm knitting right now. I'm knitting a little sample right here with the Simply Mosaic because when I see new yarns, I have to play with them, right? So I'm just doing a little bit of a garter stitch swatch here.
But I love the play of the different colors that runs through the yarn. I think no two stitches are gonna be the same, which I kind of like that idea, and again, I can feel the wool. As I'm knitting, and the knitting experience is enjoyable. We wanna make fabulous things to wear, right? We want to have our own style.
We want to create items that are wearable in a bunch of different situations, whether we're using a Simply Me pattern or we're designing our own stuff, but we always talk about process knitters versus pro, uh, project knitters. We say the same thing about crocheters. Sometimes you want to knit or to crochet. Because you want a certain thing: you want this gorgeous Merino sweater; you want that cute shawl that you can knock out in a weekend, and that's why you're making that project, but sometimes we want to knit or crochet because we want to knit or crochet; we want the feeling of knitting and crocheting, and so you want the yarn to feel good while you're working with it. You want to.
You want the experience to be good and tactile, and make you feel good about what you're doing. So even if you're a project knitter and what you're trying to do is bang out that shawl to wear this weekend, it's also nice that these yarns feel good in your hand. You feel like you're working with something of great quality. You can watch the colors change as you knit. It's a good experience.
So here is my mosaic swatch that I was working on. And here is one of our patterns. It has cables and a V-neck, and again one of the great things about these pieces is they work in a lot of different places. I can wear this to the office over a blouse. I can put it over a flannel and go hiking in it.
You, if you're going to spend the time and the money, and crocheting a wearable, you want to get a lot of use out of it. You don't want to make it and stick it in the closet and never pull it out again. So one of the things I like about the Simply Me patterns is they're very wearable in a lot of different situations. So this little vest is knit in mosaic. Well, I showed you my knit swatch in mosaic.
Let me show you this little granny square in Merino. As I mentioned, since I've gotten to see all these colors and yarns up close, I'm having a great time playing with them, and I know that I mentioned stitch definition, but I, I do. Let's see if we can get a close up here. Look at how nice my stitches look in the merino. I'm getting a ton of stitch definition, and I'm getting a really nice true color.
The colors are modern. And interesting. And there's a heck of a lot of them, which I really like. I like to be able to mix and match my colors the way that I want to, whether I'm looking for a bright pop of color or something a little more subtle. I have lots of choices.
Another great thing about the Simply Me line is we have all these various weights, whether you are a knitter or a crocheter, whether you like to work in DK, a lighter weight yarn, which is my personal preference, or you like a worsted, you like a bulky, we have these different weights for you to choose from. So you're not limited to one style of stitch or one style of work. I hope you had a great time looking at the new yarns and some of the patterns from the Simply Me line from your Inspirations. I know I had a good time. I can't stop touching this yarn.
So whether you're a knitter or a crocheter, no matter where you fall on the size range, whether you're looking for a fabulous wearable to wear out this weekend, or you just want to play with a nice yarn, Simply Me has something for you. I'm Mary Beth Temple here on behalf of my friends at Yarn Inspirations. Thank you so much for spending your time with me today.
