The Tiles Square Stitch is a textured stitch with a geometric or architectural look. Small squares are outlined in garter stitch, mimicking ceramic tile and grout, which is where the stitch gets its name. To work the Tile Squares Stitch:

Cast on a multiple of 5 plus 4

Row 1 (RS): Knit.

Row 2 (WS): P4, * K1, P4. Rep from * across.

Row 3: Knit.

Row 4: P4, * K1, P4. Rep from * across.

Row 5: Knit.

Row 6: Knit.

Rep Rows 1 – 6 for pattern.
