The broken rib stitch pattern is a simple two-row stitch pattern that can be used in many different types of projects. In this video, Jen Lucas knits the broken rib stitch pattern, mentioning that she particularly likes to use this stitch for the edging on a baby blanket or for a scarf.

When working in rows, the broken rib stitch pattern is worked over an odd number of stitches, or a multiple of 2 plus 1 stitches. The pattern instructions for this stitch pattern are:

– Row 1 (Right Side): Knit all stitches.

– Row 2 (Wrong Side): *P1, K1; rep from * to last stitch, p1.

Repeat rows 1 & 2 for pattern.
